If you want to keep this alive, There are a few things we need to get straight. Do you even see me, When I look away? These lives we lead, Reduced to a child’s game. My whole life I’ve built upon, The comfort of knowing, That you will keep my memory alive, Even after it stops burgeoning. So don’t cut me out, Leave me to face this life alone. Be the one to keep my head above, The pestilence below. I refuse to condone the actions, That leave me feeling empty. Your complacency, Will be the death of me. When the inevitable occurs, And my legacy deters, I will hand you the reins, This burden will be yours to carry. If all else fails, be prepared to welcome the storm, And everything, That it entails. Every minute leading up to this, Was just the pride before the fall. I am simply a man, Who’s been sinking. While trying, To keep you afloat. Despite this lack of air, I refuse to choke.
