Chewed up, and spit out, In every which way. With each passing moment, We fight our own way. Searching through life, For all the things, We never knew how to say. They should know, we’re all going to fail Just like every other. We will rise up again, At one point or another. It’s our turn, To learn from our mistakes. And though it seems, Like you have had enough, We know that this life, Is going to get tough. You need to trust, Take a stand. We can do this, We won’t be outmanned. We are stronger, We are better than this, We will stand strong. When everything’s gone amiss. As I look up to the sky, I try to keep an open mind. I clench my fists, And I grit my teeth. If you want to keep this alive, There are a few things we need to get straight. Do you even see me, When I look away? These lives we lead, Reduced to a child’s game. My whole life I’ve built upon, The comfort of knowing, That you will keep my memory alive, Even after it stops burgeoning. So don’t cut me out, Leave me to face this life alone. Be the one to keep my head above, The pestilence below. I refuse to condone the actions, That leave me feeling empty. Your complacency, Will be the death of me. When the inevitable occurs, And my legacy deters, I will hand you the reins, This burden will be yours to carry. If all else fails, be prepared to welcome the storm, And everything, That it entails. My whole life I’ve built upon The comfort of knowing That you will keep my memory alive Even after it stops burgeoning. So don’t cut me out, Leave me to face this life alone. Be the one to keep my head above, The pestilence below. We may be the forgotten ones, But we will not go unnoticed. Look upon me, And remember this face. Remember, Remember this day. One day, I will be somebody. Because I don’t feel like giving up, As of late. Stand your ground, As the world you built up crumbles down. When even the winds aren’t on your side, Beg for the life you’re about to leave behind. You can’t say you didn’t see this coming, You’ve known it all along. Every minute leading up to this, Was just the pride before the fall. I am simply a man, Who’s been sinking. While trying, To keep you afloat. Despite this lack of air, I refuse to choke. I will not choke. I will not give up on you.

I'm not giving up. In a world where pretending Is an acceptable substitution For actually fucking doing something About a situation. I strive to be a shining example Of combining hope with action. I will combine, Hope with action. I may never make a difference. I don't expect to be remembered. But I will continue to try Even if I'm doomed to fail. My persistence may be the death of me, But at least I'll die happy. My persistence may lead me to my demise. But I will not die in vein. I told myself I'd never change, But I watched everything, Begin to pass me by. I won't be left behind. Afraid to grow up, Afraid to grow apart. But I will make the best of, Every moment that I have left in my heart. And I'm tired, But i won't lay this to rest. With my head held high, I will stand against them all. I'm through with living every day, As if it were my last. Because my fear of the end, Takes control my mentality. I'd rather live, As if there was no end to my journey. And if I succeed, I may just make it a reality. All I have to show, For my efforts. Does not represent, Everything I've done. Because I've accomplished more, Than just what can be seen. I told myself I'd never change, But I watched everything, Begin to pass me by. I won't be left behind. Afraid to grow up, Afraid to grow apart. But I will make the best of, Every moment that I have left in my heart. I need to move on. I need to escape the bad, But the good will always come along. My hope has come and gone, But not for long. I'll always find my way, Back to where I belong. This is all I have to show, For my life. This is all I have left, But my dreams aren't out of sight. This is all I have to show, For embracing the changes, And accepting my fate. This is my everything.
